LTV Announces Free Video on Demand Service

LTV is proud to begin offering all government meetings via the LTV website at www.ltveh.org. The new serviced titled "Video on Demand" will allow community members to watch all government meetings at any time from their own computers.

Videos will be posted to LTV's website within 24-hours of the meeting taping. Viewers are still encouraged to tune in Live for all East Hampton Town meetings. Those viewers with DVRs at home may also make use of convenient midnight scheduling of all board meetings.

We invite you to begin watching immediately. Click "Registration" on the left to begin.

Is Your On-Screen Program Guide Wrong?

You may have noticed that what you are watching on Channel 20 and 22 does not match what your cable box is telling you. Please note that Cablevision has been unable to determine why they can't seem to get the right information on the screen, and we apologize for their inability to figure it out. We do however encourage you to contact Cablevision at 267-6900, in hopes that if enough people contact them, that they might put another engineer on the case. In the mean time, you can always get complete, ACCURATE, and up-to-the-minute program information via this website. We're also happy to give you the information over the phone at 537-2777. Please note that if you have a DVR box and would like to record programs, you may still do so (though your box will lie to you and tell you it's recording something else). Thanks for your continued understanding while this problem gets rectified.

Reading with Rockey

Is the East Hampton Library going to the dogs? You bet!

Every Saturday morning, Rockey the reading bulldog takes you into the East Hampton Library to read from the most popular children’s books (based on circulation). This East Hampton Library community outreach program is a great way to encourage your kids to read from home, go to the library, get a library card, and use all the materials—books, CDs, DVDs, computers, and more—free for residents of East Hampton.

This fun, Saturday morning show is the perfect alternative to mainstream cartoons—and a guaranteed hit for children of all ages.

It’s appointment television at its finest, and doggone great way to instill a love of learning. So tune in this Saturday at 9am or 1pm and read with Rockey!

Village Board Meetings

East Hampton Village Board meetings are taped on location. New meetings are aired in the next time slot following the meeting. LTV does not currently tape any other Village meetings on a regular basis.

Lights, Camera, Springs School in Action!

Springs School In Action is one of the most innovative shows on LTV, a combination of reality TV and current events — for the elementary school crowd. During lunch and recess on any school day, student teams carry cameras and interview students and staff to develop four-minute films on the lives, interests and adventures of students at Springs School.

Over 15 years, the half-hour show has grown from its roots of one camera and a painted background. Producer Sue Ellen O’Connor attributes the show’s success to the intimate partnership with LTV. “We’ve benefited greatly from the support of the LTV staff. The students are particularly proud of the new opening to this year’s show in front of a fun and magical green-screen.”

Historic Town Hall

The addition of a third LTV camera at the town board meetings may not resonate with infrequent viewers, but it is making a major contribution to the upgraded LTV coverage for those committed public process watchers. With the inauguration of the “new” town hall, there has been a discernible upgrade in the quality of LTV coverage—both video and audio. A special thanks for the commitment and dedication of Cablevision, enabling resumption of live feeds within two months of the move. Check the schedule on the top of ltveh.org for EG 22 to find your local government at work. LTV films over 12 government meetings each month - including Town Zoning and Planning Boards, Board Work sessions, and Village Board meetings. The meetings can be seen live, taped, or through www.ltveh.org Video On Demand (VOD) anytime!
