What is Studio Playhouse?
Studio Playhouse at LTV is a community theatre for the people, by the people! A community theatre is defined as a company of volunteers – from director to cast and crew who are not remunerated; a place for the entire community to come together to showcase talent and share as a team. Studio Playhouse is spearheaded by local Anita Sorel, who has had a career as an actress and director for over 30 years in New York City, on tour, and recently in Nairobi, Kenya. She was the original producer of the musical "Nunsense," performed opposite George C. Scott, Mandy Patinkin, and directed a production of "Destry Rides Again" for a European tour.
Studio Playhouse opened its doors in June 2011 with Destry Rides Again. Studio Playhouse is located in LTV's Studio 3 at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott, right by the East Hampton airport. All residents are invited to be a part of the playhouse, in any capacity - whether it be as an actor, director, stage manager, costume designer, or a general volunteer!
