We forget too quickly. Gun violence in America has reached epic proportions.
We have lost over 1.5 million fellow Americans to guns in the last 50 years,
a number higher than all soldiers killed in every US conflict since the birth of our nation,
a number that has grown almost 50% since 2010.
We forget too quickly, and it's time for us to come together, to remember, and to ask for change.
The exhibit specifically represents the 19 children and 2 teachers recently killed in Uvalde, Texas,
and is composed of 21 chairs, painted by local artists, to honor the lives lost to this
American tragedy. One orange chair will serve as a beacon to symbolize unity, support and
hope that we can once again make children and educators safe in our countries' classrooms and communities.
