Delegates. Who are they? Are they appointed or elected? Republican delegates? Democratic delegates? Superdelegates? Are the delegates free to vote as they please? Who writes the party platforms? Are party delegates the same as the Electoral College?

VOTE!  Did you know that fewer than 50% of the eligible voters in our congressional district actually go to the polls and vote? LTV in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons has produced a series of Vote! Public Service Announcements aimed at educating the voter and urging us all to exercise this essential right.

Political leaders, elected officials, and voter-awareness groups have joined in to clarify how our complex voting process actually works. We began this week with The Conventions featuring New York State Assemblyman Fred Thiele, and Anne K. Marshall and Carol Mellor of the League of Women Voters defining delegates, party platforms, and the Electoral College. In the coming months leading up to the November elections, the series will focus on campaign financing, voter registration, absentee ballots, campaign stories, and a profile of our very diverse Congressional District. Suffolk County Legislator Bridget M. Fleming, Congressional Candidate Anna Throne-Holst, David Doty of the East Hampton Conservators, Jeanne Frankl, David Calone, and many local political activists, lend their expertise and personal experience as avid believers that every eligible voter honor this fundamental American right. Airing on LTV, Channel 20, and in Southampton on SeaTV.

LTV (especially Archivist Genie Henderson and Board Director Bob Schaeffer) and The League of Women Voters of the Hamptons produced this series.
