Ingrid Griffith’s one-woman show, Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed, won Outstanding Playwriting Award at the Hear Her Call Caribbean American Women’s Playwriting Festival
(2020). She received a Danny Glover Power of Dream Award (2022), a Guyana Cultural Award
for her work’s originality, scope, impact, influence, and her pioneering spirit (2023). Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed was winner of the 2023 Suzi Bass Award, Atlanta’s professional theater awards, for Outstanding Production about Social Justice (produced by Out of Hand Theater in Atlanta, GA) and Ingrid Griffith was a 2023 Suzi Bass Award Nominee for Outstanding Principal Performer in a Play.
Ingrid Griffith is also known for her award-winning solo show, Demerara Gold, a Guyanese girl’s coming-to-America story that addresses what she and her family gained and lost.

Ingrid has been in off-broadway and regional stage productions in classical and contemporary
roles. Some of her favorites are: Lady Reveller in The Basset Table by Susanna Centlivre, Mrs. Muller in John Patrick Shanley's “Doubt”, Hedda Gabler in Henrik Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler”, Ruth Younger in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun”, Mama Nadi in “Ruined” by Lynn Nottage and Elaine Brown in Anna Deavere Smith’s “Twilight: Los Angeles”. She is delighted to be collaborating with the team at LTV to share Shirley Chisholm’s story during the current election season. And to be celebrating Shirley Chisholm this year, her Centennial Anniversary
(November 30, 1924).
