Five East End Social Accounts We Love

Five East End Social Accounts We Love

There’s nothing wrong with spending a little time on social media (in moderation, of course). From pop culture to pets, with a healthy serving of food and other fun, there’s something for everyone on platforms like Twitter and Instagram. Here are five great local social media accounts worth following.

You’ve heard of social influencers? Meet a pair of “smile influencers.” Siblings George and Gracie have big personalities to go with their puppy-dog eyes, four legs, and copper-colored coats. The pair of adorable golden retrievers lives in the Hamptons and even starred in their own calendar this year. Follow their adventures at @HamptnRetrievrs on Twitter and @hamptonretrievers on Instagram (note the slight difference between the two).

They look so good, you won’t want to eat ‘em. But you should, because Cousin Patty’s Cookies are some of the best in town. Patty, who is from East Hampton, posts pics of all the cute custom cookies she makes — photos that will make you smile and cookies that will make you drool. She’s on Instagram at @cousinpattyscookies.

So random, but so much fun. The Soap Street Zine Company curates pop culture into an Instagram feed that always makes for an interesting diversion. Favorite movie scenes, quotes, and other images that will make you feel all of the feels, all from the mind of Adam Baranello from AJB Productions in Hampton Bays. Find him online at @soapstreetzinecompany.

In case you didn’t know, #bookstagramming is a thing. And Taylor Rose Berry is really good at it. Bookstagramming is the art of enticing a reader to pick up a particular tome, mixing reviews with artsy pics. On Instagram, she posts exactly that, and also promotes local authors. Find Taylor Rose Berry (proprietor of the Berry & Co. store in Sag Harbor) at @berryandcosagharbor on Instagram.

Wholesome inspiration, food, community. Balsam Farms, an Amagansett institution, has a down-to-earth approach to social media. Their Twitter account is full of gratitude, good cheer, and great information, and their Instagram photos document the importance and beauty of agriculture and community. Find them at @balsamfarms on both platforms.
