An aspiring young director rampages against the art created by his mother’s generation. A nubile young actress wrestles with an aging Hollywood star for the affections of a renowned novelist. And everyone discovers just how disappointing love, art, and growing up can be. In this irreverent, contemporary, and very funny remix of Chekhov’s The Seagull, Aaron Posner stages a timeless battle between young and old, past and present, in search of the true meaning of it all. Original songs composed by James Sugg draw the famously subtextual inner thoughts of Chekhov’s characters explicitly to the surface. STUPID F**KING BIRD will tickle, tantalize, and incite you to consider how art, love, and revolution fuel your own pursuit of happiness.

Will Sturek

Will Sturek is is thrilled to join “Where Are They Going” theatre company in putting this fantastic play up on its feet(somewhat)! Will grew up on the east end of Long Island and has performed in numerous productions at Bay Street and Guild Hall. Will studied with The Barrow Group in NYC where he still hones his craft. Before the pandemic he and his wife Heen (Dir) were living and working in Bangkok where they last produced and acted in Yasminas Reza’s “Life x 3”. During the pandemic Will helped to open Boroughs Golf-a private golf club in Soho which he currently runs. He’s excited to get back on the stage with this fantastic crew of old friends and new!

Kate Mueth

Kate has a lengthy biography in theater arts teaching and curriculum building over the past 30 years. Her work in conceiving, developing, directing and teaching the theater arts programs January Girls, Young Cowgirls, Dude’s Eye View, Girls’ Gaze, Word Of Girl and Project Hero continue to annually serve and empower our community’s youth, at-risk, and marginalized populations. Kate furthers her passion for Arts Education by training with the prestigious Arts Leadership program at Lincoln Center and she spent a year training with Jacob’s Pillow in their celebrated Curriculums In Motion program and now serves on their Advisory Board. She directed the first outdoor production in Herrick Park in East Hampton Village with The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged, followed by a newly devised workshop production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Mulford Farm in the summer of 2022. That production, called THE DREAMER, ran Off Broadway this past Spring at HERE Arts Center, and can next be seen outdoors at LongHouse Reserve in East Hampton on August 17,18 and 20th. Jessica Mortellaro

Jessica Mortellaro is thrilled to be joining the Where Are They Going Theater Company with this fantastic cast! She was most recently seen as Phoebe/The Wrestler in “As You Like It” at the Gateway Playhouse.

Other credits include: Marie in “This Wide Night” (Guild Hall), Anne in “Anne Frank” (Baystreet Theater), Mayella in “”To Kill a Mockingbird (Baystreet Theater), Debbie in “The Real Thing” (Syracuse Stage).

Heen Sasithorn

Heen Sasithorn is an actor/director based in NYC and Thailand. She has been featured in many Thai commercials, television shows, theatrical productions, and feature films such as, "Jan Dara", "Taloompuk" and “The Island Funeral” (Best Actress Nom.) Most recently she can be seen in the Netflix production “The Stranded”.

She received her MFA in acting from The Actors Studio Drama School and before settling down in NYC was an adjunct at several Thai Universities. Directing credits: “Blackbird” by David Harrower, “Art” by Yazmina Reza. Her devised piece, “A Sisyphean Dream” was selected for the “NuWorks 2023” festival with Pan Asian Rep.
Heen has dedicated the last 4 years to motherhood and is now finding time for acting and directing again. She is very excited to be a part of “SFB”!
