Axel Quincke

Pianist/Producer

Art & Music Event Producer

Predominantly a classical pianist, in his concerts Axel Quincke boldly mixes genres in wild and fascinating improvisations that combine to create a unique soundscape. He's been invited to present live-streamed concerts at NYC's Waldorf Astoria, playing Cole Porter ́s and Frank Sinatra ́s piano. He also performs a regular live piano session at the Downtown Association, Manhattan; and has recorded Rachmaninov Piano Suite no.1 for two pianos with pianist Ignacio Gomez Bustamante. Recently, Axel was invited to perform a piano concert at UNO MAS UNO while a robot driven by Artificial Intelligence painted live on canvas while listening and responding to Quincke’s music. Catch him for a rare, live appearance and debut as part of LTV’s East End Underground Live Concert Series, and enjoy a deep dive into music’s cutting edge.

Axel Quincke is an Argentine pianist and producer born 1989 in Adrogué, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied with pianists Pía Sebastiani and Ignacio Gómez Bustamante. Although his base and fundamental structure is classical music, in his concerts different styles coexist such as experimental music, blues, jazz, intermixed with his own colorful improvisations. He has given concerts in various theaters, halls, embassies, galleries and different locations around the globe, especially in South America and Europe, with notable venues including: Colón Theatre, Avenida Theatre, Amsterdam Radio and Kaisersaal Vienna, among others. He has given master classes at universities and conservatories such as the Belgrano University, Buenos Aires; and the Beethoven Conservatory. Photo by by Cristian Altamirano

Aurelio Torres

Artist

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to a family of artists, Aurelio Torres was raised in New York City. His father, Horacio Torres, was an accomplished classically trained artist who died when Aurelio was a young teen in New York. His artistic training was in Barcelona, Spain, where he studied for several years with his uncle, Augusto Torres, another classically trained painter in the family and his father’s eldest brother. Aurelio’s grandfather, was the acclaimed Modernist, Joaquin Torres-Garcia.

Aurelio’s work infuses the aesthetic principles of classicism within contemporary settings. His painting typically depicts scenes from nature or portraits, and his sculptures most often interpret the simple, clean lines of wooden ships.

From a young age, Aurelio has travelled extensively around the world. This has inspired his determination to create much of his work in natural, outdoor settings. His aesthetic sensibility, as evidenced in his work, is one of essential simplicity and natural, uncontrived beauty.

He currently works and resides in East Hampton, New York.
