Folkie Fest: The Power of Song

Local TV, Inc (LTV) will partner with Folkie Fest to create, produce, film and broadcast a local music event with local acoustic artists at LTV Studios on Sunday, October 19th from 2pm-5pm (approx). The goal is to support live, local, singer/songwriters sharing their work.

This event is an extension of the on-going performances performed at the Moriches Bay Recreation Facility. Folkie Fest aims to introduce the audience to a variety of artists, genres, and “new music.”.

Curator, Artist & Producer

Jody Gambino (J TiL) is an American artist, filmmaker & musician. He was raised in East Hampton, NY, where he played in several loud bands and was then educated at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA where he studied Film, Television, Sound Design and Photography. Upon returning home to New York & Long Island, Jody worked for indie filmmakers Parts & Labor Productions in Brooklyn NY and also helped curate artwork for friend and mentor Scott Bluedorn at NEOTERIC FINE ART in Amagansett, NY. He was also a resident DJ at The Lantern Sound Recording Rig in Manorville, NY; both working and recording with Mick Hargreaves before landing a full-time job at the Parrish Art Museum in WaterMill, NY.

There he worked with a myriad of artists that he had studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design, alongside the Curator of Special Projects under Andrea Grover and then later, Corinne Erni. The focus was to bring a different event to life every Friday at the Parrish Art Museum, whether it be a Film, a Talk or Live Music. There Jody honed in his live event chops working a number of different events in their black box theater. He has worked with bands such as Revel in Dimes, Hopefully Forgiven and the Phillip Lemm Trio, and now he is the lead editor at LTV Studios.
